Calendar: Most of the holidays of Dance And More are the same as RISD. Below is a general list of the holidays and important dates which will be observed by Dance And More for the 2013-2014 year:

September 3, 2013: Classes Begin
October 2013: No Holidays
November 28-Dec. 1: Thanksgiving/No Classes
December 16-21: Parent Visitation Week During Your Child’s Class
December 23-January 6, 2014: No Classes
January 20, 2014: MLK Day/No Classes
March 8-15, 2014: Spring Break/No Classes
April 18-20, 2014: Easter/No Classes
May 26, 2014: Memorial Day/No Classes
May 31, 2014: 2014 Spring Recital

Spring Recital: The details of the Spring Recital will be announced during Parent Visitation Week in December 2013. Students will be measured for their Spring Recital costumes in November/December and we will begin placing orders during this time period.

Missed Classes: If your child will miss a class, please contact us. There shall be no refund for missed classes. If a student is absent from class, the student may attend a similar class during or within thirty days of the absence.

Picking Up Your Child: When class is dismissed, please come to the studio door to pick up your child. Please be prompt in picking up your child after class since our teachers cannot wait with or supervise children waiting for a ride. For safety purposes, your child should wait inside the dance studio for their parent(s). Students may not engage in loud and disruptive behavior in the lobby when waiting for their parent(s). Children in 5th grade or older may wait outside of the upstairs studio door, but may not go downstairs to wait for their parent(s).

Proper Dance Attire: Students are required to arrive dressed in the appropriate dancewear and bring with them all necessary items for their dance class:
Ballet, Creative Movement and Combo Classes: Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, pink shoes. No skirts or tutus. / Boys: black pants/shorts with white T-shirts.
Jazz: Girls: Black leotard, black jazz pants, and tan jazz shoes. / Boys: black pants with white T-shirts, and black ballet shoes.
Tap: Girls: Any color leotard, any color tights, and black tap shoes. / Boys: black pants/shorts with white T-shirts and black tap shoes.
Modern: Girls: Any color leotard, black jazz pants, bare feet… / Boys: black pants/shorts with white T- shirts, bare feet

Hair: Students are required to arrive with their hair already fastened in a bun for ballet classes, or, for all other classes, their hair should be tied back and away from their face.

Behavior: Students are expected to be on time for class which means being present for the start of class, including the warm-up at the beginning of class. Students are expected to be courteous, respectful and attentive during all classes. If a student disrupts class, the student will be given a warning. If the problem behavior(s) continue, the student will be requested to sit out and observe the class and the teacher will have a parent conference. Continued behavioral problems may result in the student’s enrollment being terminated at the discretion of the teacher and studio director. There will not be any refund given for completed classes.
